Jube, Domine, benedícere.
Grant, Lord, a blessing.
Noctem quiétam et finem perféctum
May a quiet night and a perfect ending
concédat nobis Dóminus omnípotens.

Fratres, sóbrii estóte et vigiláte;
Brothers: Be sober and watch:
quia advérsarius vester diábolus
because your adversary the devil,
tamquam leo rúgiens, círcuit, quærens quem dévoret:
as a roaring lion, goes about seeking whom he may devour.
cui resistite fortes in fide.
Whom resist ye, strong in faith.
Tu autem, Dómine, miserére nobis.
But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us.

quia peccávi nimis cogitatióne, verbo et ópere:
that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word and deed:
Ideo precor beátam Maríam semper Vírginem,
Therefore I beseech blessed Mary ever Virgin,

blessed Michael the Archangel, blessed John the Baptist,
