(Ps. 91) Bónum est confitéri Dómino.
(Ps. 91) It is good to confess to the Lord
et psállere nómini tuo, Altíssime.
and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:
2. Ad annuntiándum mane misericórdiam tuam:
2. to announce your mercy in the morning,
et veritátem tuam per noctem.
and your truth throughout the night
3. In decachórdo, psaltério:
3. Upon the ten strings, upon the psaltery,
cum cántico, in cíthara.
with a canticle, upon stringed instruments.
4. Quia delectásti me, Dómine, in factúra tua:
4. For you, O Lord, have delighted me with your doings,
et in opéribus mánuum tuárum exsultábo.
and I will exult in the works of your hands.
5. Quam magnificáta sunt ópera tua, Dómine!
5.How great are your works, O Lord!
nimis profúndæ factæ sunt cogitatiónes tuæ.
Your thoughts have been made exceedingly deep.
6. Vir insípiens non cognóscet:
6. A foolish man will not know these things,
et stultus non intélliget hæc.
and a senseless one will not understand:
7. Cum exórti fúerint peccatóres sicut fenum:
7. when sinners will have risen up like grass,
et apparúerint omnes, qui operántur iniquitátem.
and when all those who work iniquity will have appeared.
8. Ut intéreant in sǽculum sǽculi:
8. That they shall pass away, age after age.
tu autem Altíssimus in ætérnum, Dómine.
But you, O Lord, are the Most High for all eternity.
9. Quóniam ecce inimíci tui, Dómine,
9. For behold your enemies, O Lord,
quóniam ecce inimíci tui períbunt:
for behold your enemies will perish,
et dispergéntur omnes, qui operántur iniquitátem.
and all those who work iniquity will be dispersed.
10. Et exaltábitur sicut unicórnis cornu meum:
10. And my horn will be exalted like that of the single-horned beast,
et senéctus mea in misericórdia úberi.
and my old age will be exalted in fruitful mercy.
11. Et despéxit óculus meus inimícos meos:
11. And my eye has looked down upon my enemies,
et in insurgéntibus in me malignántibus áudiet auris mea.
and my ear will hear of the malignant rising up against me.
12. Justus, ut palma florébit:
12. The just one will flourish like the palm tree.
sicut cedrus Líbani multiplicábitur.
He will be multiplied like the cedar of Lebanon.
13. Plantáti in domo Dómini,
13. Those planted in the house of the Lord
in átriis domus Dei nostri florébunt.
will flourish in the courts of the house of our God.
14. Adhuc multiplicabúntur in senécta úberi:
14. They will still be multiplied in a fruitful old age,
et bene patiéntes erunt, ut annúntient:
and they will endure well.
15. Quóniam rectus Dóminus, Deus noster:
15. So that they may announce that the Lord our God is righteous
et non est iníquitas in eo.
and that there is no iniquity in him.
16. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
16. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
17. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
17. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Bonum est confitéri Dómino.
It is good to confess to the Lord.
