Antiphona
In Dómino justificábitur,
In the Lord it will be justified
et laudábitur omne semen Israel.
and glorified all the people of Israel.
(Is. 45, 15-25) Vere tu es Deus abscónditus,
(Is. 45, 15-25) Truly, you are a hidden God,
Deus Israël, Salvátor.
the God of Israel, the Savior.
2. Confúsi sunt, et erubuérunt omnes:
2. They have all been confounded and should be ashamed!
simul abiérunt in confusiónem fabricatóres errórum.
These fabricators of errors have departed together into confusion!
3. Israël salvátus est in Dómino salúte ætérna:
3. Israel is saved in the Lord by an eternal salvation.
non confundémini, et non erubescétis usque in sǽculum sǽculi.
You will not be confounded, and you will not be ashamed, even forever and ever.
4. Quia hæc dicit Dóminus creans cælos,
4. For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens,
ipse Deus formans terram, et fáciens eam,
God himself who formed the earth and made it,
ipse plastes ejus:
the very Molder of it.
5. Non in vanum creávit eam,
5. He did not create it to no purpose.
ut habitarétur, formávit eam:
He formed it so that it would be inhabited. I am the Lord,
Ego Dóminus, et non est álius.
and there is no other.
6. Non in abscóndito locútus sum,
6. I have not spoken in secret,
in loco terræ tenebróso:
in a dark place of the earth.
7. Non dixi sémini Jacob frustra: Quǽrite me:
7. I have not said to the offspring of Jacob, Seek me in vain.
ego Dóminus loquens justítiam, annúntians recta.
I am the Lord, who speaks justice, who announces what is right.
8. Congregámini, et veníte, et accédite simul
8. Assemble yourselves, and approach, and draw near together,
qui salváti estis ex géntibus:
you who have been saved among the Gentiles.
9. Nesciérunt qui levant lignum sculptúræ suæ,
9. They lack knowledge, who lift up the wood of their sculpture,
et rogant deum non salvántem.
and who petition a god unable to save.
10. Annuntiáte, et veníte, et consiliámini simul:
10. Announce it, and approach, and consult together.
Quis audítum fecit hoc ab inítio, ex tunc prædíxit illud?
Who has caused this to be heard from the beginning, and who has foretold it from that time?
11. Numquid non ego Dóminus,
11. Is it not I, the Lord?
et non est ultra Deus absque me?
And is there some other god beside me?
Deus justus, et salvans non est præter me.
I am a just God who saves, and there is no one except me.
12. Convertímini ad me, et salvi éritis, omnes fines terræ:
12. All ends of the earth, be converted to me, and you will be saved.
quia ego Deus, et non est álius.
For I am God, and there is no other.
13. In memetípso jurávi,
13. I have sworn by myself.
egrediétur de ore meo justítiæ verbum,
The Word of justice will proceed from my mouth,
et non revertétur:
and it will not turn back.
14. Quia mihi curvábitur omne genu,
14. For every knee shall bend to me,
et jurábit omnis lingua.
and every tongue shall swear it.
15. Ergo in Dómino, dicet, meæ sunt justítiæ et impérium:
15. Therefore, he will say, In the Lord are my justices and my dominion.
ad eum vénient, et confundéntur omnes qui repúgnant ei.
They will go to him. And all who fight against him will be confounded.
16. In Dómino justificábitur, et laudábitur
16. In the Lord, will be justified and praised
omne semen Israël.
all the offspring of Israel.
17. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
17. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
18. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
18. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
world without end. Amen.
In Dómino justificábitur,
In the Lord it will be justified
et laudábitur omne semen Israel.
and glorified all the people of Israel.
