Psalmus
(Ps. 66) Deus, misereátur nostri, et benedícat nobis:
(Ps. 66) May God have mercy on us, and bless us:
illúminet vultum suum super nos, et misereátur nostri.
may he cause the light of his countenance to shine upon us, and may he have mercy on us.
2. Ut cognoscámus in terra viam tuam,
2. That we may know thy way upon earth:
in ómnibus géntibus salutáre tuum.
thy salvation in all nations.
3. Confiteántur tibi pópuli, Deus:
3. Let people confess to thee, O God:
confiteántur tibi pópuli omnes.
let all people give praise to thee.
4. Læténtur et exsúltent gentes:
4. Let the nations be glad and rejoice:
quóniam júdicas pópulos in æquitáte,
for thou judgest the people with justice,
et gentes in terra dírigis.
and directest the nations upon earth.
5. Confiteántur tibi pópuli, Deus,
5. Let the people, O God, confess to thee:
confiteántur tibi pópuli omnes:
let all the people give praise to thee:
terra dedit fructum suum.
the earth hath yielded her fruit.
6. Benedícat nos Deus, Deus noster, benedícat nos Deus:
6. May God, our God bless us, may God bless us:
et métuant eum omnes fines terræ.
and all the ends of the earth fear him.
7. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
7. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Ghost.
8. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
8. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
