(Ps. 64) Te decet hymnus Deus in Sion.
(Ps. 64) A hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion.
et tibi reddétur votum in Jerúsalem.
and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem.
2. Exáudi oratiónem meam:
2. O hear my prayer:
ad te omnis caro véniet.
all flesh shall come to thee.
3. Verba iniquórum prævaluérunt super nos:
3. The words of the wicked have prevailed over us:
et impietátibus nostris tu propitiáberis.
and thou wilt pardon our transgressions.
4. Beátus quem elegísti et assumpsísti:
4. Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and taken to thee:
inhabitábit in átriis tuis.
he shall dwell in thy courts.
5. Replébimur in bonis domus tuæ,
5. We shall be filled with the good things of thy house;
sanctum est templum tuum: mirábile in æquitáte.
holy is thy temple, wonderful in justice.
6. Exáudi nos, Deus salutáris noster:
6. Hear us, O God our saviour,
spes ómnium fínium terræ et in mari longe.
who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off
7. Prǽparans montes in virtúte tua, accínctus poténtia:
7. Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power:
qui contúrbas profúndum maris sonum flúctuum ejus.
who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves.
8. Turbabúntur Gentes, et timébunt qui hábitant términos a signis tuis:
8. The Gentiles shall be troubled, and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs:
éxitus matutíni, et véspere delectábis.
thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful.
9. Visitásti terram, et inebriásti eam:
9. Thou hast visited the earth, and hast plentifully watered it;
multiplicásti locupletáre eam.
thou hast many ways enriched it.
10. Flumen Dei replétum est aquis;
10. The river of God is filled with water,
parásti cibum illórum:
thou hast prepared their food;
quóniam ita est præparátio ejus.
for so is its preparation.
11. Rivos ejus inébria multíplica genímina ejus:
11. Fill up plentifully the streams thereof, multiply its fruits;
in stillicídiis ejus lætábitur gérminans.
it shall spring up and rejoice in its showers.
12. Benedíces corónæ anni benignitátis tuæ:
12. Thou shalt bless the crown of the year of thy goodness:
et campi tui replebúntur ubertáte.
and thy fields shall be filled with plenty.
13. Pinguéscent speciósa desérti:
13. The beautiful places of the wilderness shall grow fat:
et exsultatióne colles accingéntur.
and the hills shall be girded about with joy.
14. Indúti sunt aríetes óvium
14. The rams of the flock are clothed, and the vales shall abound with corn:
et valles abundábunt fruménto:
they shall shout, yea they shall sing a hymn.
clamábunt, étenim hymnum dicent.
15. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
15. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
and to the Holy Spirit,
et Spirítui Sancto.
16. As it was in the beginning, is now,
16. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
and ever shall be, world without end.
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
Te decet hynmus Deus in Sion.
A hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion.
