Allelúia, allelúia, allelúia, allelúia.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
(Ps. 118, 49-80) Memor esto verbi tui servo tuo,
(Ps. 118, 49-80) Be mindful of your word to your servant,
in quo mihi spem dedísti.
by which you have given me hope.
2. Hæc me consoláta est in humilitáte mea:
2. This has consoled me in my humiliation,
quia elóquium tuum vivificávit me.
for your word has revived me.
3. Supérbi iníque agébant usquequáque:
3. The arrogant act altogether iniquitously,
a lege autem tua non declinávi.
but I have not turned aside from your law.
4. Memor fui judiciórum tuórum a sǽculo, Dómine:
4. I called to mind your judgments of antiquity, O Lord,
et consolátus sum.
and I was consoled.
5. Deféctio ténuit me,
5. Faintness has taken hold of me,
pro peccatóribus derelinquéntibus legem tuam.
because of the sinners, those who abandon your law.
6. Cantábiles mihi erant justificatiónes tuæ,
6. Your justifications were the subject of my worthy singing,
in loco peregrinatiónis meæ.
in the place of my pilgrimage.
7. Memor fui nocte nóminis tui, Dómine:
7. During the night, I remembered your name, O Lord,
et custodívi legem tuam.
and I kept your law.
8. Hæc facta est mihi:
8. This has happened to me
quia justificatiónes tuas exquisívi.
because I sought your justifications.
9. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
9. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
10. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
10. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
11. Pórtio mea, Dómine,
11. O Lord, my portion,
dixi custodíre legem tuam.
I have said that I would keep your law.
12. Deprecátus sum fáciem tuam in toto corde meo:
12. I have beseeched your face with my whole heart.
miserére mei secúndum elóquium tuum.
Be merciful to me according to your word.
13. Cogitávi vias meas:
13. I have considered my ways,
et convérti pedes meos in testimónia tua.
and I have turned my feet toward your testimonies.
14. Parátus sum, et non sum turbátus:
14. I have been prepared, and I have not been disturbed,
ut custódiam mandáta tua.
so that I may keep your commandments.
15. Funes peccatórum circumpléxi sunt me:
15. The ropes of the impious have encircled me,
et legem tuam non sum oblítus.
and I have not forgotten your law.
16. Média nocte surgébam ad confiténdum tibi:
16. I arose in the middle of the night to confess to you,
super judícia justificatiónis tuæ.
over the judgments of your justification.
17. Párticeps ego sum ómnium timéntium te:
17. I am a partaker with all those who fear you
et custodiéntium mandáta tua.
and who keep your commandments.
18. Misericórdia tua, Dómine, plena est terra:
18. The earth, O Lord, is full of your mercy.
justificatiónes tuas doce me.
Teach me your justifications.
19. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
19. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
20. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
20. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
21. Bonitátem fecísti cum servo tuo, Dómine:
21. You have done well with your servant, O Lord,
secúndum verbum tuum.
according to your word.
22. Bonitátem et disciplínam et sciéntiam doce me:
22. Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge,
quia mandátis tuis crédidi.
for I have trusted your commandments.
23. Priúsquam humiliárer ego delíqui:
23. Before I was humbled, I committed offenses;
proptérea elóquium tuum custodívi.
because of this, I have kept to your word.
24. Bonus es tu:
24. You are good,
et in bonitáte tua doce me justificatiónes tuas.
so in your goodness teach me your justifications.
25. Multiplicáta est super me iníquitas superbórum:
25. The iniquity of the arrogant has been multiplied over me.
ego autem in toto corde meo scrutábor mandáta tua.
Yet I will examine your commandments with all my heart.
26. Coagulátum est sicut lac cor eórum:
26. Their heart has been curdled like milk.
ego vero legem tuam meditátus sum.
Truly, I have meditated on your law.
27. Bonum mihi quia humiliásti me:
27. It is good for me that you humbled me,
ut discam justificatiónes tuas.
so that I may learn your justifications.
28. Bonum mihi lex oris tui:
28. The law of your mouth is good for me,
super míllia auri et argénti.
beyond thousands of gold and silver pieces.
29. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
29. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
30. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
30. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
31. Manus tuæ fecérunt me, et plasmavérunt me:
31. Your hands have created me and formed me.
da mihi intelléctum, et discam mandáta tua.
Give me understanding, and I will learn your commandments.
32. Qui timent te vidébunt me et lætabúntur:
32. Those who fear you will see me, and they will rejoice.
quia in verba tua supersperávi.
For I have greatly hoped in your words.
33. Cognóvi, Dómine, quia ǽquitas judícia tua:
33. I know, O Lord, that your judgments are fairness.
et in veritáte tua humiliásti me.
And in your truth, you have humbled me.
34. Fiat misericórdia tua ut consolétur me:
34. Let it be your mercy that consoles me,
secúndum elóquium tuum servo tuo.
according to your eloquence to your servant.
35. Véniant mihi miseratiónes tuæ, et vivam:
35. Let your compassion draw near to me, and I will live.
quia lex tua meditátio mea est.
For your law is my meditation.
36. Confundántur supérbi, quia injúste iniquitátem fecérunt in me:
36. Let the arrogant be confounded, for unjustly they have done iniquity to me.
ego autem exercébor in mandátis tuis.
But I will be trained in your commandments.
37. Convertántur mihi timéntes te:
37. Let those who fear you turn to me,
et qui novérunt testimónia tua.
along with those who know your testimonies.
38. Fiat cor meum immaculátum in justificatiónibus tuis,
38. Let my heart be immaculate in your justifications,
ut non confúndar.
so that I may not be confounded.
39. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
39. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
40. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
40. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Allelúia, allelúia, allelúia, allelúia.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
