Allelúia, allelúia, allelúia.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
(Ps. 118, 25-48) Adhǽsit paviménto ánima mea:
(Ps. 118, 25-48) My soul has adhered to the pavement.
vivífica me secúndum verbum tuum.
Revive me according to your word.
2. Vias meas enuntiávi et exaudísti me:
2. I have declared my ways, and you have heeded me.
doce me justificatiónes tuas.
Teach me your justifications.
3. Viam justificatiónum tuárum ínstrue me:
3. Instruct me in the way of your justifications,
et exercébor in mirabílibus tuis.
and I will be trained in your wonders.
4. Dormitávit ánima mea præ tǽdio:
4. My soul has slumbered because of weariness.
confírma me in verbis tuis.
Confirm me in your words.
5. Viam iniquitátis ámove a me:
5. Remove the way of iniquity from me,
et de lege tua miserére mei.
and have mercy on me by your law.
6. Viam veritátis elégi:
6. I have chosen the way of truth.
judícia tua non sum oblítus.
I have not forgotten your judgments.
7. Adhǽsi testimóniis tuis Dómine:
7. I have adhered to your testimonies, O Lord.
noli me confúndere.
Do not be willing to confound me.
8. Viam mandatórum tuórum cucúrri:
8. I have run by way of your commandments,
cum dilatásti cor meum.
when you enlarged my heart.
9. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
9. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
10. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
10. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
11. Legem pone mihi, Dómine, viam justificatiónum tuárum:
11. O Lord, place the law before me, the way of your justifications,
et exquíram eam semper.
and I will always inquire into it.
12. Da mihi intelléctum, et scrutábor legem tuam:
12. Give me understanding, and I will examine your law.
et custódiam illam in toto corde meo.
And I will keep it with my whole heart.
13. Deduc me in sémitam mandatórum tuórum:
13. Lead me according to the path of your commandments,
quia ipsam vólui.
for I have desired this.
14. Inclína cor meum in testimónia tua:
14. Bend my heart with your testimonies,
et non in avarítiam.
and not with avarice.
15. Avérte óculos meos ne vídeant vanitátem:
15. Turn my eyes away, lest they see what is vain.
in via tua vivífica me.
Revive me in your way.
16. Státue servo tuo elóquium tuum,
16. Station your eloquence with your servant,
in timóre tuo.
along with your fear.
17. Amputa oppróbrium meum quod suspicátus sum:
17. Cut off my disgrace, which I have taken up,
quia judícia tua jucúnda.
for your judgments are delightful.
18. Ecce concupívi mandáta tua:
18. Behold, I have longed for your commandments.
in æquitáte tua vivífica me.
Revive me in your fairness.
19. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
19. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
20. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
20. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
21. Et véniat super me misericórdia tua, Dómine:
21. And let your mercy overwhelm me, O Lord:
salutáre tuum secúndum elóquium tuum.
your salvation according to your eloquence.
22. Et respondébo exprobrántibus mihi verbum:
22. And I will respond to those who reproach me by word,
quia sperávi in sermónibus tuis.
for I have hoped in your words.
23. Et ne áuferas de ore meo verbum veritátis usquequáque:
23. And do not utterly take away the word of truth from my mouth.
quia in judíciis tuis supersperávi.
For in your judgments, I have hoped beyond hope.
24. Et custódiam legem tuam semper:
24. And I will always keep your law,
in sǽculum et in sǽculum sǽculi.
in this age and forever and ever.
25. Et ambulábam in latitúdine:
25. And I have wandered far and wide,
quia mandáta tua exquisívi.
because I was seeking your commandments.
26. Et loquébar in testimóniis tuis in conspéctu regum:
26. And I spoke of your testimonies in the sight of kings,
et non confundébar.
and I was not confounded.
27. Et meditábar in mandátis tuis,
27. And I meditated on your commandments,
quæ diléxi.
which I loved.
28. Et levávi manus meas ad mandáta tua, quæ diléxi:
28. And I lifted up my hands to your commandments, which I loved.
et exercébar in justificatiónibus tuis.
And I was trained in your justifications.
29. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
29. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
et Spirítui Sancto.
and to the Holy Spirit,
30. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
30. As it was in the beginning, is now,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Allelúia, allelúia, allelúia.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
