Dixit Angelus ad Petrum :
Circúmda tibi vestiméntum tuum,
et séquere me.
(Ps. 122) Ad te levávi óculos meos,
qui hábitas in cælis.
2. Ecce sicut óculi servórum,
in mánibus dominórum suórum.
3. Sicut óculi ancíllæ in mánibus dóminæ suæ:
ita óculi nostri ad Dóminum, Deum nostrum, donec misereátur nostri.
4. Miserére nostri, Dómine, miserére nostri:
quia multum repléti sumus despectióne:
5. Quia multum repléta est ánima nostra:
oppróbrium abundántibus, et despéctio supérbis.
6. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
et Spirítui Sancto.
7. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
8. (Ps. 123) Nisi quia Dóminus erat in nobis, dicat nunc Israël:
nisi quia Dóminus erat in nobis,
9. Cum exsúrgerent hómines in nos,
forte vivos deglutíssent nos:
10. Cum irascerétur furor eórum in nos,
fórsitan aqua absorbuísset nos.
11. Torréntem pertransívit ánima nostra:
fórsitan pertransísset ánima nostra aquam intolerábilem.
12. Benedíctus Dóminus
qui non dedit nos, in captiónem déntibus eórum.
13. Anima nostra sicut passer erépta est
de láqueo venántium.
14. Láqueus contrítus est,
et nos liberáti sumus.
15. Adjutórium nostrum in nómine Dómini,
qui fecit cælum et terram.
16. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
et Spirítui Sancto.
17. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
18. (Ps. 124) Qui confídunt in Dómino, sicut mons Sion:
non commovébitur in ætérnum, qui hábitat in Jerúsalem.
19. Montes in circúitu ejus:
et Dóminus in circúitu pópuli sui,
ex hoc nunc et usque in sǽculum.
23. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
et Spirítui Sancto.
24. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
Dixit Angelus ad Petrum :
Circúmda tibi vestiméntum tuum,
et séquere me.
The Angel said unto Peter:
Cast thy garment about thee,
and follow me.
(Ps. 122) I have lifted up my eyes to you,
who dwells in the heavens.
2. Behold, as the eyes of the servants
are on the hands of their masters.
3. As the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress,
so our eyes are upon the Lord our God, until he may be merciful to us.
4. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us.
For we have been filled with utter disdain.
5. For our soul has been greatly filled.
We are the disgrace of those who have abundance and the disdain of the arrogant.
6. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
7. As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
8. (Ps. 123) A Canticle in steps. If the Lord had not been with us, let Israel now say it:
if the Lord had not been with us.
9. When men rose up against us,
perhaps they would have swallowed us alive.
10. When their fury was enraged against us,
perhaps the waters would have engulfed us.
11. Our soul has passed through a torrent.
Perhaps, our soul had even passed through intolerable water.
12. Blessed is the Lord,
who has not given us into the harm of their teeth.
13. Our soul has been snatched away like a sparrow
from the snare of the hunters.
14. The snare has been broken,
and we have been freed.
15. Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
16. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
17. As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
18. (Ps. 124) Those who trust in the Lord will be like the mountain of Zion.
He will not be disturbed for eternity, who dwells in Jerusalem.
19. Mountains surround it.
And the Lord surrounds his people,
from this time forward and even forever.
20. For the Lord will not allow the rod of sinners to remain over the lot of the just,
so that the just may not extend their hands toward iniquity.
21. Do good, O Lord, to the good
and to the upright of heart.
22. But those who turn away into obligation, the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity.
Peace be upon Israel.
23. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
24. As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
The angel said unto Peter:
Cast thy garment about thee,
and follow me.
