Lectio
Christus semel pro peccátis passus est, justus pro injústis,
Christ also died once for our sins, the Just One on behalf of the unjust,
ut vos addúceret ad Deum, mortificátus quidem carne,
so that he might offer us to God, having died, certainly, in the flesh,
vivificátus autem Spíritu.
but having been enlivened by the Spirit.
Et vos nunc salvos facit, non carnis de posítio sórdium sed consciéntiæ bonæ rogátio in Deum,
You also are saved, similarly, not by the testimony of sordid flesh, but by the examination of a good conscience in God,
per resurrectiónem Jesu Christi, qui est in déxtera Dei, proféctus in cælum,
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is at the right hand of God, since he has journeyed to heaven,
subjéctis sibi Angelis et Potestátibus et Virtútibus.
the Angels and powers and virtues are subject to him.
