ascéndit crucis patíbulum, allelúia :
hódie Claviculárius regni,
gaudens migrávit ad Christum :
hódie Paulus Apostolus,
lumen orbis terræ,
inclináto cápite, pro Christi nómine
martýrio coronátus est, allelúia.

ánima mea Dóminum.
2. Et exsultávit spíritus meus
in Deo salutári meo.
3. Quia respéxit humilitátem ancíllæ suæ:
ecce enim ex hoc beátam me dicent omnes generatiónes.
4. Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est:
et sanctum nomen ejus.
5. Et misericórdia ejus a progénie in progénies
timéntibus eum.
6. Fecit poténtiam in bráchio suo:
dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui.
7. Depósuit poténtes de sede,
et exaltávit húmiles.
8. Esuriéntes implévit bonis:
et dívites dimísit inánes.
9. Suscépit Israël púerum suum,
recordátus misericórdiæ suæ.
10. Sicut locútus est ad patres nostros,
Abraham et sémini ejus in sǽcula.
11. Glória Patri, et Fílio,
et Spirítui Sancto.
12. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,

This is the day whereon Simon Peter
went up upon the gibbet of the cross, alleluia:
this day, the custodian of heaven
depart hence with joy to be with Christ:
Today, the Apostle Paul,
the light of the whole world,
bow his head, and for Christ's name's
sake receive the crown of his testimony, alleluia.
(Luk. 1: 46-55) My soul
magnifies the Lord.
2. and my spirit rejoices
in God my Savior,
3. for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant.
Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
4. for the Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
5. His mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
6. He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts.
7. He has brought down the powerful from their thrones,
and lifted up the lowly;
8. he has filled the hungry with good things,
and sent the rich away empty.
9. He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
10. according to the promise he made to our ancestors,
to Abraham and to his descendants forever.
11. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
12. As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

hoy, el Custodio del reino
marchó gozoso con Cristo:
Hoy, Pablo el apóstol,
luz del mundo,
inclinó la cabeza, y por el nombre de Cristo
fue coronado con el martirio, aleluya.
(Lc. 1: 46-55) Proclama
mi alma la grandeza del Señor,
2. se alegra mi espíritu
en Dios, mi Salvador,
3. porque ha mirado la humillación de su esclava.
Desde ahora me felicitarán todas las generaciones,
4. porque el Poderoso ha hecho obra grandes en mí,
su nombre es santo,
5. y su misericordia llega a sus fieles
de generación en generación.
6. Él hace proezas con su brazo,
dispersa a los soberbios de corazón,
7. derriba del trono a los poderosos
y enaltece a los humildes,
8. a los hambrientos los colma de bienes
y a los ricos despide vacíos.
9. Auxilia a Israel, su siervo,
acordándose de la misericordia
10. como lo había prometido a nuestros padres
en favor de Abrahán y su descendencia por siempre.
11. Gloria al Padre, y al Hijo,
y al Espíritu Santo.

aujourd’hui l’Apôtre Paul,
lumière de la terre,
ayant incliné la tête, a souffert le martyre pour le nom du Christ
et a été couronné, alléluia.

exalte le Seigneur.
2. Exulte mon esprit
en Dieu, mon Sauveur !
3. Il s’est penché sur son humble servante ;
désormais tous les âges me diront bienheureuse.
4. Le Puissant fit pour moi des merveilles :
Saint est son nom !
5. Son amour s’étend d’âge en âge
sur ceux qui le craignent
6. Déployant la force de son bras,
il disperse les superbes.
7. Il renverse les puissants de leurs trônes,
il élève les humbles.
8. Il comble de biens les affamés,
renvoie les riches les mains vides.
9. Il relève Israël, son serviteur ;
il se souvient de son amour,
10. De la promesse faite à nos pères,
en faveur d’Abraham et de sa race, à jamais.

magnifica il Signore:
2. e il mio spirito esulta

3. perché ha guardato l'umiltà della sua serva
D'ora in poi tutte le generazioni mi chiameranno beata.
4. Grandi cose ha fatto in me l'Onnipotente,
e Santo è il suo nome:
5. di generazione in generazione la sua misericordia
si stende su quelli che lo temono.
6. Ha spiegato la potenza del suo braccio,
ha disperso i superbi nei pensieri del loro cuore;
7. ha rovesciato i potenti dai troni,
ha innalzato gli umili;
8. ha ricolmato di beni gli affamati,
ha rimandato i ricchi a mani vuote.
9. Ha soccorso Israele, suo servo,
ricordandosi della sua misericordia,
10. come aveva promesso ai nostri padri,
ad Abramo e alla sua discendenza, per sempre.
11. Gloria al Padre e al Figlio
e allo Spirito Santo.
