Hymnus
1. Imménse cæli Cónditor,
1. Infinite Creator of heaven,
Qui mixta ne confúnderent,
So that the two do not mix and get confused,
Aquæ fluénta dívidens,
You separated the flowing waters
Cælum dedísti límitem.
And you put a limit on the sky.
2. Firmans locum cæléstibus,
2. Fortifying a place for the heavens
Simúlque terræ rívulis;
And also for the rivers of the earth,
Ut unda flammas témperet,
That water might temper heat
Terræ solum ne díssipent.
And the soil of earth not be dried up.
3. Infúnde nunc, piíssime,
3. Pour now, most holy,
Donum perénnis grátiæ:
Into us the gift of endless grace,
Fraudis novæ ne cásibus
That no occasions of new deceit
Nos error átterat vetus.
Or ancient deception destroy us.
4. Lucem fides invéniat:
4. Let faith search out and find the light
Sic lúminis Jubar ferat,
And then such beams of light bring forth,
Ut vana cuncta térreat:
So may all vanities be removed,
Hanc falsa nulla cómprimant.
And the falsehood no bring compromise.
5. Præsta, Pater piíssime,
5. Grant5. Grant it, O most compassionate Father,
Patríque compar Unice,
And Your Only Begotten equal to the Father,
Cum Spíritu Paráclito
Who with the Holy Spirit
Regnans per omne sǽculum.
Reign for ever and ever.
